Talking with artists and writers about their creative lives is a powerful way to grow our understanding of ourselves and our culture. Since 2012, the UCCS Visiting Artists & Critics Series has featured nationally and internationally known artists and critics for community and university audiences. Founded by the UCCS Galleries of Contemporary Art and the UCCS Visual Art and Art History with a goal to foster understanding and appreciation of contemporary art through dialogue and critical conversations, the series continues this fall with virtual webinar presentations.
Two of the artists presenting this fall – Danielle Rae Miller and Sara Z. Meghdari - are part of the FEARS: Female Emerging Artist Residency Series. FEARS is curated by Dr. Katherine Guinness, VAPA’s Director of Art History, and features emerging professional artists in residence at GOCA Downtown. Artists Jane
