Dear Ent Center patrons,

At the beginning of 2020, we were excited to present top local, regional and national artists to our Colorado Springs community, and we had even announced some of our 2020-2021 lineup. But as you know, things changed quickly for us and the world as the COVID-19 pandemic spread, and we suspended our in-person events in March.

The health and safety of our patrons, artists, and staff is paramount. We have spent much of the last few months running through all the scenarios and protocols that would allow us to invite audiences and artists back to the Ent Center for the Arts in a safe manner. Unfortunately, social distancing guidelines and the restrictions on gathering sizes make it very difficult, if not impossible, for artists to rehearse and perform, and for audiences to convene.

Therefore, the Ent Center for the Arts has made the difficult decision to cancel all live programs presented by the Artist Series, Theatreworks and the Galleries of Contemporary Art through December 2020. More information for subscribers and single-ticket holders is forthcoming from these individual programs.

We fully support the efforts of our colleagues across campus to offer in-person instruction this fall. For music, theater and dance students in the Department of Visual and Performing Arts, performances are related to curriculum and student education. Therefore, these performances will move forward with limited, invited audiences and guided by safety protocols. We hope to open these to the public when it is safe to do so.

We also understand that many members of the community think of the Ent Center for the Arts as the home of other beloved arts organizations. We will work with these organizations to determine whether their events can be held safely over the coming months.

Though we are saddened to write this, we are buoyed by the promise of Spring 2021 and a return to in-person programming. We look forward to writing with better news soon.

Sincerely,

The Staff and Faculty of the Ent Center for the Arts

One of the most amazing things about art is the escape into another world whether it be a piece of art that stretches the mind, an expressive monologue or masterful ballet solo. Social distancing is putting a pause on the collective joy art brings when we experience it together.

This is a challenging time for everyone- especially the artists and performance venues with the loss of the revenue due to the cancellations. The Ent Center for the Arts is working to reduce as many expenditures as possible, yet it will not be enough to recover from lost revenue. Please consider a donation today to make possible a vibrant future for the arts in our Pikes Peak Region.
